Using GMAT

I downloaded the 2007-12-10 Linux release of GMAT to try out on my Kubuntu 8.04 box.  This release was fairly large – 130MB zipped.  I followed the instructions in INSTALL, and got the following results:
> LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ./gmat
./gmat: error while loading shared libraries: libeng.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
> LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ./gmatConsole
./gmatConsole: error while loading shared libraries: libgfortran.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
> LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH ./gmatNoMatlab
./gmatNoMatlab: error while loading shared libraries: libgfortran.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I got the gmatNoMatlab version running after installing (or linking to existing installs) libgfortran, libtiff, and libexpat.

Building GMAT

  • finally got Subclipse 1.4.4 working in Eclipse 3.2.2 by installing the SVNKit Client Adapter.
  • makefile paths need to be tweaked slightly.  For example, looks for BuildEnv.mk in the wrong place.
